An HEC school vice-principal, Bindeshwar Chowdbary 45, became the latest victim of scooter snatching. He was going towards the HEC Sector III by his scooter BIM 1652 at around 3:40 pm today when four unidentified criminals stopped him forcibly at the SBI Sector-II turning near Shalimar and deprived him of his scooter. When the vice-principal resiated from giving the scooter-key to the Criminals they fired a shot from a country-made pistol which misfired, As by then the vice-principal had caught hold of one of the miscreants and rest banged the pistol bult in the back of his head making him full on the ground. The criminals made good their escape on his scooter. The victim sustained. What is mentionable is that two passers by cyclists instead of coming to his rescue speed past leavin the hapless scooterist to fight it out. A lady too was watching from above the balony of a flat by the side of the road, but she too did no respond for fear of the miscreants. The incidents of looting of two wheelers near Shalimar have been on the increases for the past three months. Not a single criminal has been rebounded up by the HEC police till date which speaks volumes about their slackness.
